Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of RuhOS (“the Service”), operated by Sidrat Digital Inc., a Canadian federally-incorporated corporation (“we,” “us,” “our”).

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using RuhOS, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Scholarly disclaimer

RuhOS is a reading and reflection tool for the Qur’an and its classical translations. It is not a source of Islamic legal rulings (fatwa), theological guidance, or religious authority.

For religious guidance on specific questions, consult qualified Muslim scholars in your community. RuhOS provides text and reflection tools; it does not issue rulings.

3. Content accuracy

Qur’anic text is sourced from the QPC Hafs matched edition (King Fahd Complex encoding). Translations are classical works by Saheeh International, Marmaduke Pickthall, and Abdullah Yusuf Ali, reproduced under permissive licenses (CC-BY 3.0).

If you find errors in the text or translations, please report them to info@ruhos.io.

While we take care to render sources accurately, we do not guarantee that every character in every verse is free of encoding errors introduced during ingestion. Report suspected errors and we will investigate.

4. User content and privacy

Your bookmarks and reading position are private to your account. See the Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

RuhOS does not currently support public user-generated content (comments, public bookmarks, shared reflections). If future versions introduce such features, additional terms will govern them.

5. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to bypass authentication or access other users’ data
  • Attempt to scrape or systematically download the Qur’anic text or translations for redistribution
  • Attempt to circumvent the sanctuary discipline of the Service — for example, by building automated systems that create engagement patterns (streaks, competitive rankings, or gamification loops) using data derived from RuhOS
  • Use the Service to distribute malware, engage in fraud, or violate the rights of others

6. No warranty

RuhOS is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. During the silent launch period, we make no guarantees regarding uninterrupted service, freedom from bugs, or availability.

We work in good faith to make the Service reliable and accurate, but you use it at your own discretion.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sidrat Digital Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting info@ruhos.io. All associated data will be permanently removed.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including but not limited to attempts at prohibited use described in Section 5.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to your account email address. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
